In third-party manufacturing, a licensed manufacturing facility produces medicines that you sell under your own brand. You decide the product list, compositions, strengths, and packaging; the manufacturer produces them to that specification. You then market and distribute the finished stock yourself.
How it differs from a PCD pharma franchise
- Brand: in a PCD franchise you sell the franchise company's existing brands. In third-party manufacturing the products carry your brand.
- Product list: a franchise partner picks from a ready catalog (Garwyn's is 115 products). A third-party customer defines the products themselves.
- Order size: franchise orders are placed from existing stock. Contract manufacturing is produced in batches, so each product has a minimum quantity.
- Territory: franchise partners can get district-wise monopoly rights. With your own brand, where you sell is up to you.

Minimum quantities depend on the product and the manufacturing partner. For tablets, typical quantities start from around 300–1,000 boxes, depending on the requirement. We confirm the minimum for each item once we have your product list.
What to prepare before you enquire
- Product list with compositions and strengths. Our composition index shows the formulations already in our range, if you want a starting point.
- Dosage form and pack size for each product, e.g. 10×10 tablets or a 60 ml syrup.
- Brand names you intend to use for each product.
- Expected order quantity per product, so the minimum batch can be checked.
- Your licenses. To sell medicines you will need your own wholesale Drug License and GST registration. See the documents checklist, and confirm the exact requirements with your state drug control office.
